"Phantom Menace" is the best Star Wars movie yet. It has a new character, Qui Gon Jinn, who is Obi Wan Kenobi's teacher. This is so cool, you gotta see it. "Saving Private Ryan" is one of the best movie of all time (despite what the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says!) If you want to know what it is about, see the movie or read the book, i won't tell you. This web page sports a couple of "Saving Private Ryan" pictures, I am not aware of any copyrights, if there are some just E-mail me and i will promptly remove them. The book was almost as good as the movie, but it was not as descriptive as I think it should be. Some other good movies are: "Where Eagles Dare", starring Clint Eastwood; " The Sands of Iwo Jima", starring John Wayne; "The Quiet Man, also starring John Wayne; and "McClintock", another John Wayne movie. Basically, If you want a good movie, get one with John Wayne, he is THE GUY! I am a freshman at Amphitheater High School in Tucson, Arizona taking mostly honors classes. I hang out mostly with other war freaks. If you know any of them they are:*Obi Wan Kenobi,*Luke Skywalker, and the "one who got caught", Sam Collopy.(*these names have been changed to protect the innocent) My favorite teacher is Mr. Szolowicz, my history teacher. I love history with a passion, mostly Ancient Scotland, Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI and II, and Vietnam. I like the Navy very much, and hope to become a Navy Corpsman. I like the Seals, but could never be one. I also like the (cough)Marines and even the Army a little. I think that they are all very cool, but the Navy is for me because they are not as intense, or as tough as Uncle Sam's Mindless Children. | Sea Cadets | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
I am now a member of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, now currently a Seaman Apprentice. The Sea Cadets is an organization that basically prepares you for a Navy or Coast Guard career, and gives you an accurate representation of the Navy and Coast Guard. With this organization, you wear Navy uniforms with Sea cadet patches on the arm, you attend a two-week Bootcamp that is very similar to a Navy one. You can also go to places all over the U.S. and abroad for yearly training in th summer. You are also required to take Navy courses that cover a wide range of information. I have attended the Winter boot camp '98 located at San Luis Obispo, CA. This summer i am going to attend Submarine Seminar in Groton, CT.
